Once again the North Grenville Chamber of Commerce recognised businesses and individuals at their 24th Annual ” Salute to Excellence ” award Gala held at the W.B George Building at the University of Guelph Kemptville Campus.

Last night the Canada Council for arts honoured eight great Canadian artists at Rideau Hall. The eight winners of Governer General’s Awards in Visual Media and Arts were each awarded a $25,000 prize from the Canada Council as well as receiving a special medallion from the Royal Mint.

Great Ocean Road, Australia

Going back through some old photos from a trip back to Australia 5 years ago and a road trip along the Great Ocean Road

The Great Ocean Road is an Australian National Heritage listed 243-kilometre (151 mi) piece of road going along the south-eastern coast of Australia between the cities of Torquay and Warrnambool in Victoria. The road was built by returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932, and is the world’s largest war memorial; dedicated to casualties of World War I. It is an important tourist attraction in the region, which winds through varying terrain alongside the coast, and provides access to several well known landmark – including the nationally significant Twelve Apostles limestone stack formations ( which as part of the process that they were formed are slowly deteriorating – the first to disentegrate, the leftmost stack disintegrated on 3 July 2005) .

The above photo was a case of right time, right place – was a dark,stormy sky with very little sunlight. For a brief momemt the sunlight popped through the clouds behind me lighting up the cliffs and giving the sky a more deeper, darker colour.
